ALFA ROMEO SPIDER 2.0i SERIES 3.
This Italian soft-top is one of the most iconic cars
ever produced. The Spider's gorgeous body was the last
design with which the legendary Battista 'Pinin'
Farina was personally involved, and it proved to be
quite a swansong! The Spider remained in production
for nigh on three decades with only the minimum of
design and mechanical alterations. But then, as the
old adage goes, why try to improve upon perfection?
This is a gorgeous 1987 'Aerodinamica' (Series 3) 2.0i
Spider. It was originally a German supplied car and
was then imported into the UK and now available for
registration in Spain. The eye-catching alloy wheels
are from Germany too, a set of very rare 15' Rials
shod with 230/45x15 Michelin TRX tyres. The current
owner has kept the car clean, dry and secure in barn
storage since acquiring it. As such, it's in very good
condition.
The black leather with red stitching interior is in
superb condition. There's no sign of the usual wear or
cracking on either of the seats with this car.
Mechanically, the car runs beautifully and comes
complete with a reassuringly large amount of
provenance. This includes a stack of receipts and the
service history from both Germany and the UK -
including details of a recent new exhaust and the £900
bill for a complete gearbox overhaul at 145km.
There really is no immediate work required on this
Spider, the new owner will be able to drive her away
and enjoy it.
